1、用作及物動詞

（1）使受傷

No one was seriously hurt in the traffic accident.在這次交通事故中沒有人受重傷。

（2）使疼痛

The tight shoe hurt my foot、這隻鞋太緊,把我的腳擠疼了。

（3）傷xx的感情;使(感情)受到傷害

He inadvertently hurt her feelings、他無意中傷了她的感情。

（4）損害,危害

The scandal hurt the governments image badly.這醜聞嚴重損害了政府的形象。

2、用作不及物動詞

（1）疼痛

My right leg hurts、我右腳疼。

（2）帶來痛苦;造成損失

It wont hurt to postpone the meeting for a few more days.

會議再推遲幾天也無妨。

3、用作名詞

（1）(精神上的)創傷[(+to)]

It was a real hurt to her vanity.

這對她的虛榮心真是一個打擊。

（2）傷;痛

The massage made the hurt go away、按摩使疼痛消失了。

4、用作形容詞，表示(心靈等)受到傷害的
